As the Corporate Controller you are responsible for providing leadership to the Accounting organization in all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and tax compliance. 

 

JOB DUTIES:

  • Build and maintain high performing team that provides exceptional customer services and meets departmental objectives.
  • Lead, develop, and implement accounting and support initiatives that enable Quarles to operate more effectively and execute its Advantaged Business Model strategy.
  • Champion continuous improvement efforts to simplify/improve process, and implement best practices.
  • Serve as the company's expert for GAAP accounting, income tax, internal controls, internal and external financial reporting, as well as the related financial systems, policies, and processes.
  • Implement a highly regimented monthly closing process that results in accurate financial statements by the target date established with the CFO. Identify and implement process improvement, training, and workload-balancing opportunities to achieve this result.
  • Enhance company performance by providing management reporting and insights outside of routine financial reports as well as actionable feedback for internal (and often upstream) partners to improve process.
  • Manage the company's financial statement audit and tax return preparation.
  • Provide support for M&A activities.
  • Develop our accounting team's skills by providing continuous training and development opportunities, providing timely feedback regarding their performance, and providing clear and defined responsibilities and accountabilities.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 10+ years of relevant private industry experience, including 3+ years in a Controller position
  • CPA and public accounting experience preferred
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and customer support skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work through complex problems and implement effective solutions.
  • M&A due diligence and integration experience preferred.
